My illustration and design work see-saws between the high and low brow - drawing on influences like classic cinema, the 1960s, mid century modern design, comic books and 1970’s Saturday morning cartoons – it all goes in the gumbo.
I mainly work in the digital realm (Photoshop & Illustrator) but I also break out the ink and gouache occasionally. I have created work for corporations, apps, theatre companies, book covers, improv groups, zines, comic collections - as well as commissioned pieces and personal projects.
My photography began with a love of the urban landscape and the everyday human parade. I found the work of Hungarian-born French photographer Brassaï early in my life and, along with Henri Cartier Bresson's black and white moments, I had the genesis for my fascination. I love the streets of Melbourne and the random ‘lucky dip’ that it provides. I work in both digital and film.
